.Cooler Temperatures Autumn is here, and the weather is gradually getting colder. Since I often go for evening runs, it’s even cooler at night than during the day. Lately, I’ve come to a few insights about running in fall weather. If I wear too much, I end up sweating excessively, increasing the risk of losing body heat when I cool down. But if I wear too little, I feel cold both before and after the run, making it easier to catch a chill. After checking some online resources, I decided to wear a breathable, quick-drying inner layer topped with a lightweight, wind-resistant jacket.
.Checking the Weather Autumn weather can be unpredictable, changing from day to day. So before each run, I check the evening forecast. If it’s going to be windy or rainy, I skip the run:p and try to head out when the weather’s nice. Running four or five days a week is plenty for me, leaving some rest days to protect my knees.~~
.Bringing a Towel In autumn, it’s especially important to manage sweat. Unlike in summer, when I can quickly cool down in light, moisture-wicking clothes, the dampness and chill of autumn increase the chances of catching a cold. I’ve gotten the sniffles more than once from sweaty, cool-down runsUwU, Now, I make sure to bring a towel to wipe off sweat and a warm jacket to put on right after I finish.
.Breathing Through My Nose One bad habit I’m working on is avoiding mouth breathing, which I tend to do while running. With the colder fall air, breathing through my mouth isn’t great for my respiratory tract. I’m trying to switch to breathing through my nose as much as possible.
5. Enjoying Fall Runs!Autumn has that perfect in-between weather—without the heat of summer that makes you uncomfortably sweaty or the cold of winter that has you shivering OwOWith the right precautions in place, I can fully enjoy running this season!
